US Diary Part III- Ladies and Gentlemen, Science class is now Over....

You guys must have heard about how cool Nvidia is.. How things are different here and blah blah blah :)

Actually every other company says that,
but i realised that in real sense during my stay at SC, Nvidia Headquarters.
Yeah, Nvidia really Hates CPU's and we love GPU's here. By now eveyrone is aware of parallel computing of a GPU and how it speeds up visual computing operations.
These are all technical terms, but what about explaining importance of GPU's to a non- technical guy?

Answer: Innovative way of explanation.

What nvidia guys must have done for this? They designed two completely different robots Leonardo 1.0 and Leonardo 2.0 , which are capable of painting a picture/graphics on a surface.

Leonardo 1.0 refers to a CPU and the way it would paint a picture with its speed.

and Leonardo 2.0 refers to a GPU and the way it would do visual computing parallely.

Specifications:

Leonardo 1.0:(CPU)

1) no great capability,

2) Performs series of discrete actions one after the other (the way a CPU does)

Leonardo 2.0: (GPU)

1) 2100 gallons air storage,

2) Accumulators which can release the airpressure into

3) 1100 tubes,

4) Each tube contains a paintball, (1100 paintballs)

5) Can fire all these 1100 paintballs parallely to produce graphics in 80 msecs

What is the result of all this?
