The LOOOOOONGEST Road to Success

Oh God,
Cant believe that this is my 1st post on the blog ,since i created this blog way back in June 2007.But belive me this is going to be the epic post..which i can even convert it to a novel ..SO here I am wid my 1st Post..Its obviously is about End Of an Loserish era which continued for almost 7 months..My Placement..
1st)
The Microsoft Internship..
1st Round Technical apti:
Day: 17th Feb'08-- Place:Mumbai
Microsoft's internship Test was going to be conducted all over India across 5 centres .Test was in Mumbai and a bunch of 30 students in 3 Sumos from COMP and IT dept of COEP headed towards Mumbai on 17th Morning 5 O' clock..while travelling I was only thinking that its going to be tough clearing the apti at a national level event like this.. So rather than studying i should focus on enjoying a trip like this..so i did not even read a word and juss gave the apti in a chillax mood.Enojyed the trip and we returned back to Pune.
N.B:(For detalis of the trip I'll have to write another post :))
Was not at all expecting nethin from the results.. But the results were announced and only 2 were selected from my college ..Out of which i was the one. .Really a pleasant surprise..
Day:29th Mar'08 -- Place :Mumbai again
2nd Round of interviews.. 9 am
i)written test-elimination Round.
went off good..was able to solve a crucial sum coz of which got through it.Out off overall 70 selected only 30 were remaining now.
ii)1st technical interview:1 pm
lasted for over 45 minutes.. I was through this also...20 students for next round..
iii)2nd technical interview: 3 pm
lasted for 45 mintues again and was thru this also..only 15 remaining now..
iv)HR round --: 5pm
normally they dont eliminate ppl in HR ..and it was a pretty tp interview..
After this interview, the process was over and they were going to convey the results by mail.
Twist in the tail:
many days passed by but i was not gettin the mail.. bet'n this I was so confident of gettin thru that I treated my friends in advance(one of da most loserish things i hv ever done in my life).
then i became restless and called up directly at Microsoft Office to finally come to know that I was rejected..(Day 11th April'08) The day i felt most loserish in my life..

2nd)
ISL internship
This internship was offered by ISL to only COEP students wid a stipend as high as 15 grands per month
Day :28th April'08
Rounds:
i)apti..
Got thru it..48 ppl shortlisted..
ii)technical interview..
I wud say was not good(after my all experiences of interviews I can say now it was not good)..
and as U muss have guessed by now.. I was rejected.
3rd)
TCS placement
Day 21st June'08
Those who know it,, might me wondering why I am writing about TCS..( coz I am placed in TCS..;))
But there was ""Rejection"" involved in TCS also..After the 1st technical interview they had rejected me..
but when i was on my way back home ,, i got a call from their HR telling that I need to go through another technical interview .. and this time they made a mistake ...I caught them in their own trap.. they gave me the 2nd chance and luckily (or coz of TCS's bad luck) I got thru:)

DE Shaw and co
Day 7th July'08
nothin gr8 to write about it coz I was rejected in apti only..But
Mentioned it coz my 3 BEST friends got thru DE Shaw.. Manvi,Sameer and Nikhil..they made IT students proud and bagged a package as high as 11.7 lpa which u guys wudnt have imagined in ur wildest of dreams.
5th)
ZS Associates
Day 1 : 1st july'08 Aptitude:
was not very technical..Got thru it.. results were announced on 17th July'08
Day 2: 21st July'08
Group Discussion:
GD's r one of the most crappiest things involved in an interview process.
Our topic of discussion was Nuclear deal good or bad for India..
Spoke some shit ...got thru...
Day 3: 22nd July'08
i)Behavioural Interview:
was a nice experience..1st time had a B.I.they ask analytical questions like
How many signals r there in pune?how many pizzas does pizza hut sell in one day?there r no exact answeres of these questions u have to come up wid an ans and explain how u arrived at it.
got thru it also
ii)Case study:
this was really a good experience.. never b4 thought about how much planning and marketing needs to be done to successfully popularize a product and solve the problems involved in it.
This case study provided a complete Idea on how ZS works..
But....
BUT
BUTT ;)
i failed to clear it..
iii)Principal interview:
obviously i dint have it.. But Harsh had it and he got thru,,,his ""DREAM"" came true..that day
6th)
Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley was Open House..4 colleges together .. so chances of getting placed were less again..
Day1 :26th July'08-Place MIT Pune..
time 4 pm
aptitude..
cleared it...results were announced at as late as 7 pm..overall 30 ppl got thru..16 from COEP
Day2: 27th July'08-place MIT Pune..
i)1st Technical interview elimination Round
got thru it.. though i think it was not that good..
Out of 30 only 16 were remaining now. 8 from Coep..
ii)group activity(no elimination)
This was some new thing ...v had spare parts of various toys u can say/.. and v had to make an Ice Cream parlour of it..i was more concentrating on how to attch those parts in one another and not speaking much.. other ppl in my group were talking crap as if it was a group discussion..
iii)2nd Technical round..(no elimination)
this was very good and I was very happy wid the way it went..
iii)HR(no elimination)
this also went very good to the extent that I can say tht if the technical interview guys wud have refused to take me,, HR guy wud have forced them to take me..
Result of these ii)iii)and iv) was I WAS AGAIN REJECTED..But I think I lost on the Group activity thing ..and wen I said other ppl in my group were talking crap..I must tell u that.. only those got thru ...:).
another sad end of the story.I was wondering by now tht why Bollywood films have a happy end always...
7th)
Nvidia:
I shud mention here that I am an nvidia intern and I was expectin to get thru easily..But twist came wen our project manager refused to offer any favours and told that v'll have to clear aptitude also.. even though v had cleared it while appying for internship..
Day1:20th Aug'08
i)Aptitude:
was tough..but did well and got thru it...21 students were shortlisted..
ii)The Technical interview:
The longest technical interview of my life....which lasted for 1 hour 45 minutes.. and best coz i cud not ans to only last puzzle which the interviewer asked..
time 8 pm..they were running short of time .. so the HR announced 5 names who were supposed to come to nvidia the next day morning for interviews may be technical may be personal////MY name was ther in those 5...again there was a twist and I cud not stop thinking that Why every company needs to give a 2nd thought on me every time..though I dint want to study tht day, I studied OS from a book written by William Stallings(The guy who has written crappiest books on all the possible subjects in comp sci...)
Day 2: The Golden Day..
22nd August 2008..(will never forget this day in my whole life)

time 10 30 pm..
I was in nvidia .. hoping for another technical round..
But i got a pleasant surprise wen Came to know that I only have HR round..:)
HR was pretty tp..I came Out smiling..

Time:4 pm
was at home ...not feeling nethin..I was prepared for another rejection..
Time 6 pm
excitement reached to its pick..
Got a msg from manvi tht results r out..
but tht was a prank.... loser..
Time 7:10 .. pm
Got a call from Manvi...
she Said " 'Loser' u r selected"...
The only one from IT....Ohh God ,,,i did not even know how to react to this situation..
I jus said "OK."
That was the happiest moment in my life..my dad was also at home...cud not express wat I felt that time....
I had cleared the Test Of Perseverance......
The Loserish stream which continued for almost 7 months ended finally.....
got a job in Core company...
went to the college..wher i had a bath wid a 1.5 liters of thumbs up..which my all loser friends had brought for me.. ..and wat all celebrations v did after that, I'll write in some other post....
But like I said ,,for celebrations,,. all my loser friends wer ther..I shud also mention that they were always ther for me ,backing and supporting me thru all these failures...Thts wat u want in life I guess... and thats wat is Success....:)

कहते है की फिल्मों की तरह हमारी ज़िन्दगी में भी end तक सब ठीक ही हो जाता है..
